... sorry for not posting when I said I would post on Sunday. As you can imagine, there was no internet access at the beach, and when I got back I was so tired I could barely speak to my parents, and then the drive, and then starting here... you get the idea. I am big baby.
Anyways, now that I am more settled, I should be able to update this every day or two. So if for some reason you can't find anything on the 200 channels of digital cable, you can't enjoy the summer heat, and you can't find anything else to read on the internet, feel free to peruse.

The weekend over at Assateague (my defacto going away party) was amazing. While the rest of the DC area suffered from thunderstorms, we had about three lightning strikes to the East on Friday night, and the rest of the time it was crystal clear and 80. We actually benefited from the high winds from the storm system because it kept the bugs very low. Here is a picture from Saturday night.
That blobby thing at the top is actually the moon. Considering the exposure length (and my involuntary spasms), it came out pretty steady. What I really like, however, is how the ocean came out. The reflection was as nice as it looks there.

Anyways, Friday afternoon Bill, Bill, Tracy, Michelle, and I drove out and met Colleen and Dan. We stopped at
Red Eye Dock Bars for some tasty seafood, and then arrived around 5PM. We pitched my massive tent (hehe), which was actually a bit of challenge due to the high winds, and then hung out on our own desolate spot on the beach.

As you can see, very few people for miles around. BTW, this as all Colleen's doing. We came out here last year and liked it so much we repeated the trip this year. So yay to the Quinlisks (or Siaus, depending on how you are counting).

On Friday night we just hung out. I made a small fire (my 4th in less than a month!) and Neal stuck eggs under his shirt. Um... yeah. (Done in my best
Lumbergh voice). It's all about the O-face. Okay, back to work for now, so I will just end with some funny pictures from Friday night. More posts and pictures tomorrow.
Note to the Park Service. Those guys holding the bottles of beer are NOT part of our group. They were all trying to hit on Laura, but she rejected them because she is too good for them.

As you can see from the hands-on-the-hips stance, I wasn't picking up what they were putting down :)
