Roadtrip...

... so Sunday, I got home, packed the rest of my crap, said goodbye to Michelle, went to my parent's house, ate dinner, and was so tired that I conveniently fell asleep before they could yell at me about... stuff.

Monday morning, I went to the Verizon store, upgraded my parents' phones (and plans), and tried to transfer my number to their plan also, but was told that because a certain bill from a certain firm was 60 days overdue, no numbers could be transferred at this time. Annoying. They asked me if I wanted to pay it, but let's just say I didn't have five figures lying around.

And so with that I went off on my quest. I left DC around 9:30. The first border I hit was Maryland-West Virginia. (Kids, don't try this at home. I definitely almost hit that tree... and that truck... and that rock... and that guardrail trying to take these pictures.)

One thing I found on my quest was that I could immediately tell how much in Hicksville I was based on the radio stations. For example, upon leaving the DC region at about Frederick, I had nothing but country... until I hit Morgantown and West Virginia University. A nice Top-40s station. Ahhhhhhhh.

After West Virginia, I entered Pennsylvania, briefly reentered West Virginia in one of those messed up things, and then entered Ohio.

In Ohio, it was a looooooooooooooooooong way of country music and mountains and trees and small towns before the hard-core hip-hop station of Columbus kicked in. Below is the Columbus skyline (or best that I could get it from the highway).

This one deserves its own place because it is the home of the Columbus Clippers, the AAA minor league team for the Washington Nationals. I'm pretty sure I'll be one of the first Nats fans in Iowa. Yeah.

Finally, I leave you the rather glamorous Ohio exit and welcome to Indiana. First time I had ever driven into Indiana. Next post, on to Hongsun's house.

Forget cell phones while driving - MK can use a camera while driving. Impressive!
